The meeting was called to order with a prayer by Rev. Will Jones at 12:03 PM. Rev Jones declared a quorum was present and stated the clerk was Converse Jones.
Rev. Jones stated that the purpose of the meeting was to:
The report of the Nominating Committee was made by Converse Jones. He noted that Bryan Miles and Melinda Wheeler agreed to serve the regular three year term. Catherine Stephenson moved to cease further nominations and to elect the nominees by acclamation. The motion was seconded by Richard Stephenson. The motion was unanimously adopted.
The budget for 2009 was presented by the Treasurer, Donna Miles. There being no questions or further discussion, a motion was made by Richard Stephenson and seconded by Glenn Singleton to adopt the proposed 2009 budget.
There being no other business to come before the Congregational Meeting, the meeting was adjourned with prayer by Rev. Jones at 12:09PM.

The minutes of the October 26th regular meeting and the Congregational Meeting dated November ninth were read and approved as amended.
The approved treasurer’s report shows a balance of $117.10.
Old Business
Articles of Incorporation will be addressed at the January meeting.
Bryan Miles has agreed to repair the aluminum eve at the back of the old church building.
The Community Thanksgiving Service is here on Tuesday at 7:30.
The Spiritual study shall start at 10AM on January 18.
New Business
CJ announced the results of the nominating committee. He stated that Bryan Miles agreed to be on the Session and Melinda Wheeler declined. The nominating committee will reconvene after the worship service today.

The proposed budget for 2009 was reviewed and discussed. Richard Stephenson moved that we accept the budget as amended. Converse Jones seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The Annual Congregational meeting will be held on December 7 to elect officers and review the budget for 2009.

The meeting was called to order with a prayer by Rev. Will Jones at 11:55 a.m. Rev. Jones declared a quorum was present and requested Richard Stephenson to act as clerk of the meeting.
Rev. Jones stated that the purpose of the meeting was to elect a Nominating Committee to nominate potential Session members pursuant to Book of Order – G14.0202. Rev. Jones noted that the two Session members designated to serve on the committee were Donna Miles and C.J. Jones and that Converse Jones would serve as moderator of the committee. The floor was announced open for nominations and Glenn Singleton, Catherine Stephenson, and Melinda Wheeler were nominated. A motion was made and unanimously adopted to cease further nominations and to elect the nominees by acclamation.
There being no other business to come before the congregational meeting, the meeting was adjourned by Rev. Jones at 12:05 p.m.

Will Jones opened with prayer at 9:04AM.
The minutes of the June third regular meeting, the called meeting dated June twenty second, and the regular meetings dated August third and September fourteenth were read and approved.
The approved treasurer’s report shows a balance of $23.34.
Old Business
After several attempts to repair the public address system, Will purchased a new one for $163.00. Richard Stephenson made a motion to reimburse him. The motion was seconded by Claudia Singleton. The motion carried.
Articles of Incorporation were explained briefly by Mr. Stephenson. Further discussion will be made at the next meeting when there will be more time.
Converse Jones passed out the Elder Link assignments.
Financial matters were discussed. The proposed budget will be on the agenda for the next meeting. It was noted that the per capita tax had not been paid yet. It was decided to mention the cash inflows and outflows at the December Congregational meeting.
New Business
Spirituality Series is postponed until after Christmas. The sessions will be held Sundays at ten AM.
Converse Jones and Donna Miles will be rotating off the Session this year so they will represent the Session in the nominating committee. CJ will be the convener. The November Congregational Meeting is for the purpose of electing a nominating committee.
Mrs. Singleton mentioned the idea of a spaghetti dinner here at the church. It should be profitable to the church in more ways than one. Claudia agreed to organize the fundraiser.

Will Jones opened the meeting with a prayer at 9:00 a.m. It was declared that a quorum was present. Converse Jones, Clerk of Session, not being present, minutes of the June 1 and August 3 meetings were not read and approved.
Treasurer Report:
Donna Miles distributed a Register Report for the period 7/1/08 through 9/30/08 which was discussed. It was noted that the budget committee needed to meet to propose a budget for the coming year which will be approved at the November meeting of the Session.
Old Business:
Maintenance – Will Jones noted that the aluminum eve on the back of the church had not yet been repaired. Will also noted that a gas leak in the heating and air conditioning system in the back of the church has been detected and is in the process of being fixed.
Church Picnic – Will Jones reminded that next Sunday’s service will be followed by a picnic at the church.
Incorporation – Richard Stephenson noted that if attendance was better at the next Session meeting, we would entertain a motion to begin the incorporation process.
Congregational Meetings – A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to conduct a congregational meeting on November 2 to elect a nominating committee for replacement members of the Session and to conduct the annual congregational meetings on December 7.
New Business:
Spirituality Classes – Will Jones announced that he would follow-up with congregation as to whether there was interest in conducting another session on spirituality. It had been suggested to him that 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings might be a good time for such sessions.
Community Thanksgiving Service – Will Jones announced that the community Thanksgiving service would be held at our church on Tuesday, November 25.
Pastor’s Report:
Helping Hands – Will Jones gave a report concerning internal problems with Helping Hands.
Local Ministerial Association – Will Jones reported that he and Jerry Summers, Pastor of the Dry Ridge Christian Church, were attempting to organize a local ministerial association and had had several meetings toward that end.

Will Jones opened the meeting with a prayer at 9:00 a.m. It was declared that a quorum was present. Converse Jones, Clerk of Session, not being present, minutes of the June 1 meeting were not read and approved.
Treasurer Report:
Donna Miles distributed a Register Report for the period 6/1/08 through 7/29/08 which was discussed. The Report indicated a balance in the checking account as of 7/29/08 of$878.45.
Donna further advised that the Certificate of Deposit in the amount of $22,300.00 would mature on 10/21/08. It was discussed and decided that $11,000.00 of that amount would be reinvested in a Certificate of Deposit and the balance deposited in a Money Market account. Donna also advised that the current value of the investment account established by John and Wanda Conrad was $20,975.00 which was paying the church approximately $88.00 per month in interest. Will Jones inquired as to whether the church's per capita contribution to the Presbytery had been paid and Donna advised she would check on that and report at the next meeting.
Old Business:
Maintenance - Will Jones noted that the aluminum eve on the back of the church had not yet been repaired. Bryan Miles has indicated that he will make the repairs when he finds the time.
Summer Review - Will Jones reviewed the summer activities of the church to date and noted that all activities went very well.
Incorporation - Richard Stephenson distributed draft copies of proposed articles of incorporation and bylaws and requested that session members review them so that they could be discussed at the next meeting of the session.
New Business:
Spanish-Speaking Congregation - Will Jones reported that the minister of the Spanish-speaking congregation had had to return to Mexico due to a family emergency and that he was reportedly having difficulty in obtaining an entry visa for return to the United States.
Nonetheless, the congregation is continuing without him, other members having stepped up to lead.
Fall Cookout - It was suggested that a cookout after church be tentatively planned for 9/21.
Presbytery:
Committee on Ministry- Will Jones noted that Kevin Murphey, the church's Committee on Ministry representative, wanted to meet with Will and that he would try to set up a luncheon meeting with Murphey in the near future.
Presbytery Meeting - Will Jones advised that the next meeting of the Presbytery would be on 9/9/08 at the Knox Presbyterian Church.
Pastor's Report:
New Attendee - Will Jones advised that Kim Faulkenberg, a visitor, had recently attended again and had advised that she would be back.
Helping Hands - Will Jones advised that the organization had been unable to elect officers at the two most recent meetings but that the Operations Manager was continuing to run day-to-day operations.

It was declared that a quorum was present.
Opened with Prayer by Will Jones at 10:50AM.
This meeting was called by Reverend Jones to receive John Charles Bills into membership of the church by profession of faith following baptism. Additional agenda items are the baptisms of his children, Nicholas Alexander Bills and Charles Neville Bills.
Converse Jones made a motion to approve the membership as stated and baptisms. Richard Stephenson seconded. The motion carried.
Reverend Jones mentioned that the Spanish speaking congregation would like to meet in the church on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays.
Will stated the meeting will end at the benediction in today’s worship service.

Will Jones opened with prayer at 9:09AM.
The minutes of the April thirteenth’s regular meeting were read and approved.
The approved treasurer’s report shows a balance of $1411.04.
Old Business:
The Spirituality Series has had nothing but positive comments.
Rob Holdsworth gave us an update on the church’s website. He announced that our name was shown as an option to view 40,000 times and had 41 visits. This is very positive.
CJ stated there were no other ideas for fundraisers provided by the congregation.
New Business:
Janis and Rick Raus wish to baptize their son, Hunter David next Sunday. John Bills has asked to join the church and baptize sons, Nick and Charles. Richard Stephenson so moved. Claudia Singleton seconded and the motion carried.
There was discussion about the historical marker located in the front yard of the church. It seems that the aluminum sheathing is coming off and the sign’s finish is degrading. Mr Stephenson contacted the appropriate people. Their reply was that a grant is in the works to repair all historic signs but if we wanted to pay them $800, they would be out much sooner. We all thought it would be best to wait. In the mean time we will trim the sheathing so no one will get injured.
CJ brought up the idea of Elder Link as something we had done in the past to remind people to come to church. If someone is absent for more than a couple of weeks and no one seems to know why, then the assigned Elder will get in touch with them. CJ promised to divvy up the list and distribute it via email.
Pastors Report:
We may have special music at least once per month. Today Anita Boyer will sing for us.
Will reminded us that there are Cluster meetings designed for us to attend. The meetings are monthly.
The next Presbytery meeting will be at the Knox church, September 9, 5:30PM.
Reverend Jones mentioned potential members being, Brent and Mona Lahner, Kirby Owens and Kim Faulkenberg with her 6 month old daughter, Maggie.
Will’s vacation is not set as yet but most likely sometime in July.
Reverend Jones stated that the Committee on Ministry shall be contacting us to sit in on a Session meeting. Reverend Kevin Murphy has been assigned to us. A representative meets with us every three years.
Will announced that there will be an evangelistic event coming June 13 sponsored by the “Just for Him” ministries.

Will Jones opened with prayer at 9:26AM.
The minutes of the March second regular meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report was not available.
Old Business:
Discussion was made on the need for additional trustees. Currently, there is one trustee, Catherine Stephenson. Reverend Jones stated that the congregation must elect the trustees. Since there are no pressing matters requiring decisions from the trustee, we opted to wait for a regular congregational meeting either in November or December. Mr. Richard Stephenson entered it in his day planner to act as a reminder.
It was determined that the church needs to be incorporated. Ms. Claudia Singleton made the motion to incorporate and asked Mr. Stephenson to work towards that end. The motion was seconded by Richard Stephenson. The motion carried.
Next on the agenda was the bible study on spirituality on Fridays in May. It was decided to begin the series May 9th at 7PM. Will plans to announce the study in the paper.
Reverend Will Jones provided the Session with an update on the soup kitchen. The organization is doing well and feeding an average of 30 people.
Helping Hands was also discussed. Will delivers donated items about once per month. It is having some management issues but still is functioning quite well.
Bryan Miles has agreed to repair the aluminum eave on the back of the old church building. We are not sure when the repairs will take place because it takes two people and scheduling is an issue.
Discussion was made concerning a fundraiser this year. CJ is going to ask the congregation for their input.
New Business:
It has come to Will’s attention that the commodes’ mechanisms need to be replaced.
Other new business brought to the Session’s attention was the upcoming vacation bible school. Donna Jones is heading that up this year and is looking for more volunteers.
The next Presbytery meeting is May 13th at 5:30PM but we are unsure where it will be held. Mr. Stephenson stated that he has a prior commitment and so cannot attend.
Pastors Report:
Will reported poor attendance at the Maundy Thursday service at the Crittenden Christian Church.
Reverend Jones announced that a new couple may attend this morning’s service. Their names are Brent and Mona Lahner. Will officiated over their wedding about 18 years ago.
The next session meeting will be held on June 1 in the Fellowship Hall of the church at 9:00AM.

Treasurer’s Report shows a balance of $3086.17
Old Business:
Mr. Stephenson explained the sources of church funds to the Session. Mr Holdsworth suggested the he send an email to all members stating the need for money to continue this church.
Richard shared the reply, the church received from the Board of Pensions. The decision of the Board was that we would not be able to rehire Reverend Jones after he retires. After some discussion it was agreed that we would pursue the idea of Will as a subcontracted minister.
New Business:
Discussion was held about the need for a Board of Trustees. Will informed us that it would have to be voted on by the congregation. It was decided that we would discuss this further in the next meeting.
The Session brainstormed for fundraisers. Some suggestions were; a strawberry festival, ice cream social, and a ham dinner.
Maintenance: The aluminum eave in the back of the Sanctuary is need of repair. Bryan Miles will be asked if that is something he could do.
Reverend Jones announced that Donna and Julie will bless us with special music for the Easter service.
Mrs. Singleton reported on the Cluster meeting held on January 29 at the Community of Faith church. She commented that it was good fellowship.
Upcoming events include a combined Maundy Thursday service with the Christian churches of Crittenden and Dry Ridge at the Crittenden church at 7PM. Reverend Jones will be in Norfolk, VA for the AAPC seminar on March 30. Reverend Dawn Sarchet will be asked to substitute that Sunday. The next Communion will be April 6th.
Pastors Report:
Will scheduled a bible study on spirituality on Fridays in May.
Reverend Jones reported that a member of the church, Cliff Lahner is in failing health.
